Una repentina oleada de asesinatos en Camboya is a crime/mystery novel by Shamini Flint and the fourth book in the “Inspector Singh investiga” series.  This Spanish edition is published by Amok Ediciones, translated by Marta Vázquez Heredia, and released in 2024.
Inspector Singh has been sent to Phnom Penh as an observer at an international war-crimes tribunal—mainly because his bosses want him out of their sight.  Then a prominent member of the tribunal is murdered in cold blood, and the authorities would rather keep the case quiet.  Singh refuses to look away, and his investigation soon leads into Cambodia’s darkest history, touching the legacy of Pol Pot, the Khmer Rouge, and the country’s “killing fields.”
This is the kind of mystery that gives you two things at once: a satisfying whodunit and a vivid sense of place. The setting feels “close-up,” with social observation and cultural detail woven naturally into the case.  If you enjoy international crime fiction with a distinctive lead—sharp, stubborn, and very human—Inspector Singh is the sort of detective you’ll want to follow from book to book.
Recommended for readers who like smart, accessible mysteries with real-world weight: book-club readers, fans of globally set detective series, and anyone curious about Southeast Asia beyond the headlines.  Expect a page-turning investigation, moral tension, and the immersive feeling of traveling through a story—without sacrificing clarity or momentum.  The paperback format is “rústica con solapas” and the book is 304 pages.
