Christmas Carols & New Year Songs of Ukrainians in Kuban (Колядки і щедрівки українців Кубані) is the first volume in the Anthology of Ukrainian Folk Songs of Kuban series, curated by Nadiya Suprun-Yaremko. This hardcover edition (176 pages, 170 × 245 mm) presents 121 musical texts — comprising 69 carols and 52 New Year songs — collected from 49 historic settlements in the Black Sea region.
The collection is a result of decades of fieldwork, transcription, and research by a distinguished musicologist and professor of folk studies. It preserves the voices and melodies of Ukrainian settlers in Kuban (a region in southern Russia), whose descendants maintained rich ritual and musical traditions far from their homeland.
This volume is intended for musicians, folklorists, ethnographers, composers, cultural historians, students, and all who are passionate about Ukrainian song traditions — both in Ukraine and abroad
